Leschaco Aircargo, a company of the Anker Leschaco Group, was finally admitted as a „regulated agent“ by the Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics. The cargo of such forwarders can be loaded without any additional safety measures. That saves time and money.
(Bremen, 24 August 2009) „It is one of our avowed objectives, to continuously improve and develop the security of the air cargo sector“, Oliver Oestreich, member of the managing board of the Anker Leschaco Group explained. „The certification „regulated agent“ officially confirms that we comply with the highest requirements in security. Our customers make high demands on our services and we can meet these requirements.”
Ulrich Sensche, Manager Operation & Purchase, Leschaco Aircargo Germany, comments: „Also for the transport to the airport we only use regulated agents as partners. This guarantees the control of the freight on the whole transport chain and the classification as „secured“. The advantage for our customers is the highest level of security and the reduction of time and costs.”
Since the beginning of 2006 the regulations 2320/2002/EC and others have been strictly implemented in Germany. Therefore air carriers have to take extensive security measures before the freight is loaded on board of the plane (e. g. X-ray). The consequences of these measures are delays in departure and increasing costs for all parties involved in the transport. Companies granted the status “regulated agent“ assume an immense responsibility, because freight declared as „secure“ is normally not checked again before loading.
